FIELD: communication.

SUBSTANCE: method involves the first timer starting or restarting by the terminal device when the physical control channel of the PDCCH downlink is intercepted. Then, the terminal device determines if the terminal device enters the state of discontinuous reception off (hereinafter – DRX OFF) or continues to intercept the PDCCH according to the position of the first timer end time in the first time unit. The first time unit is the time period used by the terminal device to intercept the PDCCH, the DRX OFF state refers to the state, in which the terminal device does not intercept the PDCCH.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of data transmission.
