FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of seawater parameter research and can be used for measuring seawater density in marine environment research from a mobile hydrophysical equipment carrier. The substance of the invention consists in the density of seawater during vertical sounding of the marine environment being measured by measuring the pressure at four spatially distanced points using a system consisting of four identical equally oriented streamline pressure sensors installed on a mobile hydrophysical equipment carrier, wherein three of the pressure sensors are located at an equal distance from each other and are equidistant from the fourth pressure sensor installed in the direction of movement, and the density of seawater is determined by the formula:

α is the angle between the intersecting straight lines passing through the fourth and the first pressure sensors, through the fourth and the second pressure sensors, through the fourth and the third pressure sensors, deg,
P1, P2, P3 and P0 are the pressures measured by the first, the second, the third and the fourth pressure sensors, respectively, Pa. The angle α therein is between 45° and 90°.
EFFECT: expanded range of technical means of measuring the seawater density by creating a method of measuring the seawater density based on measuring only one parameter of the marine environment, namely pressure, from a mobile hydrophysical equipment carrier, using a system of pressure sensors.
