FIELD: investigation of geophysical fields in ecological studies, experimental hydrodynamics, oceanology, and the like. SUBSTANCE: device has four identical speed-to-electric-signal converters; series- connected computer unit whose first through fourth inputs are connected to outputs of speed-to-electric-signal converter, band filter, squarer, averaging unit, and threshold unit whose second input is connected to threshold signal source and output functions as device output. All four speed converters are mounted in same plane. Any of three speed converters of four mentioned ones are not mounted on same straight line. Speed-to-electric-signal converters may be mounted at apexes of square. EFFECT: reduced turbulence energy level and linear dimensions of device. 2 cl, 4 dwg
