UNIVERSAL FIBER-OPTIC CONNECTOR Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC G02B6/36

Abstract RU 2748013 C1

FIELD: cabling systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of structured cabling systems, data processing centers, and telecommunications, it can be used for connecting/disconnecting fiber-optic data transmission lines, in particular to a universal fiber-optic connector. The claimed universal fiber-optic connector includes a case equipped with a flange and an eyehole rigidly fixed to it, as well as a detachable part containing an optical first connector with a visor and a groove installed inside the case with the possibility of attaching to it an optical second connector with a matching visor and a groove; and retainers located at the end of the case and connected to each other by screws. The connector contains a connecting element that rotates freely on it, on the inner part of which there is a protrusion; the base and the clamping element, mounted vertically at a distance from it and spring-loaded, located inside the case; the rod, rigidly fixed to the clamping element; guides, located on the base, with the possibility of fixing the base and the clamping element inside the case when assembling the connector; optical connectors of the base and the clamping element, installed in recesses made on the base and the clamping element, with a radius equal to the radius of the connectors. The optical connectors of the clamping element are spring-loaded, and the optical connectors of the base are rigidly fixed inside the base.

EFFECT: increase in reliability; a significant increase in the number of connection-disconnection cycles of the connector and, as a result, an increase in the service life of the connector; a decrease in weight and size characteristics; the universality of the device, which consists in using only one type of connector when connecting 2 connectors; a reduction in the time of assembly/disassembly of the connector.
