FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: connector has a cylindrical housing with a sealing flange, on both ends of which there is a thread and a groove for fixing the angular position of mated FC-type connectors. A sealing assembly in form of a ferrule unit is placed coaxially inside the housing. Seal rings are placed between the housing of the ferrule unit and the housing of the hermetically sealed fibre-optic connector. Centring gripping elements are made in form of floating coupling sleeves, having an annular groove on the centre part of the outer cylindrical surface. Opposite ends of the coupling sleeves have conical outer surfaces. The housing further accommodates cylinder bushings with a conical inner surface. The housing has inner annular grooves in which fixing elements are inserted, said elements lying in annular grooves of the floating coupling sleeves.

EFFECT: high impact and vibrational resistance and degree of sealing of the fibre-optic connector while maintaining universality of mating with FC-type connectors.
