FIELD: metal surface phosphating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nickel-free phosphating of a metal surface. The method involves treating the metal surface with an acidic aqueous phosphating composition containing zinc ions, manganese ions, iron (III) ions, phosphate ions and less than 0.3 g/l of nickel ions, while the phosphating composition has an acidity index ranging from 0.03 to 0.065. An acidic water phosphating composition for nickel-free phosphating of a metal surface and a metal surface with a phosphate coating are also proposed.
EFFECT: improved adhesion of the subsequent applied paint coating and protection against corrosion, as well as increased stability of the bath tub are provided.
