FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of a metal and methionine chelate. The method includes mixing methionine and Ca(OH)2 and adding metal nitrate to the mixture resulting in a metal and methionine chelate. The metal in the metal and methionine chelate is a divalent metal. The metal nitrate is added in an equivalent ratio between 0.3 or more and 3.0 or less. Also proposed is a method for synthesis of calcium nitrate (Ca(NO3)2).

EFFECT: invention allows synthesizing metal and methionine chelate with high efficiency without additional methods of removing insoluble salts.
