FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing a methionine and metal chelate. The method involves mixing methionine and Ca(OH)2 and adding chloride metal salts to the resulting mixture to obtain a methionine and metal chelate, wherein the metal in the chloride metal salts constitutes one or more metals selected from the group consisting of copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn), and iron (Fe). Also proposed is a method for producing calcium chloride (CaCl2).
EFFECT: proposed method makes it possible to prevent formation of insoluble salts as byproducts, and the chelate can be produced with high efficiency without additional operations to remove the above-mentioned insoluble salts.
