SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a controlling apparatus and method of corrosion control of a wire net. A control apparatus for a wire net, particularly for a protective net for stabilizing, intercepting, and/or capturing and/or holding heavy cargo has at least two engaging elements, wherein at least one engaging element is made of at least one separate wire, a wire bundle, a wire strand, a wire rope and/or another longitudinal element, with at least one wire, primarily made of high-strength steel, characterized by the presence of at least one corrosion control unit provided for controlling at least one corrosion indicator including at least one corrosive characteristic indicative of corrosion of the protective net, wherein the corrosion indicator allows determining intensity and/or development of corrosion, and the corrosion control unit has at least one data transmission module made primarily at least to provide the detected corrosion indicator.
EFFECT: provided is possibility of remote control, detection of the end of the service life and estimation of the remaining service life of a wire net.
