FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system for detecting leaks in the main pipeline. The gas sensor system includes a measuring tube having an outer surface and an inner surface defining a channel. A lot of holes are made through the outer surface and the inner surface. In addition, each of the plurality of holes has a diameter of not more than 0.5 millimeter (mm). The measuring tube is covered with a layer of hydrophobic sealant. A layer of hydrophobic sealant is covered with a protective layer. The sensor assembly is positioned along the measuring tube. The sensor assembly includes an inlet, an outlet, and an inner chamber positioned between the inlet and outlet. There is a sensor element in the sensor assembly. The sensor element has the first end and the second end. The sensor cable runs along the measuring tube. The sensor cable has a first section connected to the first end of the sensor element and the second section connected to the second end of the sensor element.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at creating a sensor system that can be used over long distances and that is easier to manufacture.
