FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering processes and can be used for technological processes of surface hardening of metal surfaces. The device contains a corona discharge forming unit and a nozzle with a metal tip having an opening for the exit of ozonated air, with a coupling in which a fitting for supplying compressed air to the nozzle is installed, and a coupling for supplying a high-voltage wire inside the nozzle, while the corona discharge forming unit is connected to the said tip and by means of the said high-voltage wire is connected to an electrode installed in the nozzle with the possibility of forming a corona discharge between it and the said tip. At the same time, the device is equipped with a metallized sponge-separator located in the outlet part of the nozzle on the said electrode, and the nozzle is made in form of a polypropylene pipe.
EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to improve the quality of the hardened surface and the productivity of the hardening process by significantly increasing the amount of charged oxygen and ozone ions in the compressed air flow acting on the hardened surface, which allows for an accelerated process of obtaining an oxide layer on a metal surface.
