FIELD: polymer materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of material engineering, namely, to a method of manufacture of a polymeric material based on polytetrafluoroethylene consisting in plastic deformation of a polymer preform by compression accompanied by a change in thickness maintaining a constant width of the preform.
EFFECT: produced polymeric material based on polytetrafluoroethylene is characterized by improved strength properties, namely, increased strength and reduced creep compared with the initial polytetrafluoroethylene allowing using it in manufacture of various parts of friction units of machines and mechanisms, for products resistant to chemical influences.
