FIELD: nuclear energy; rocket and space technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear energy and rocket and space technology and can be used to create nuclear power, propulsion and power propulsion systems for solving problems related to the delivery of spacecraft (SC) to the operation orbit and subsequent long-term power supply of spacecraft equipment, as well as the provision of expeditions to distant planets and deep space. The nuclear power plant contains a closed gas loop composed in series of a nuclear gas-cooled reactor, a turbine, a recuperator hot path, a refrigerator, a compressor and a recuperator cold path through pipelines, as well as an electric generator coaxial with the turbine and compressor, connected through a power conversion and distribution system and a switch automatic control systems with payload and ballast load. Moreover, the ballast load is built into the closed gas circuit and is placed in front of the entrance to the nuclear gas-cooled reactor or in front of the entrance to the recuperator hot path, and the resistive elements of the ballast load are made for the operating voltage corresponding to the output voltage of the generator.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of a nuclear power plant.
