FIELD: nuclear power plant for spacecraft.
SUBSTANCE: plant comprises an electric propulsion system, a reactor plant for heating a gaseous working fluid, a system for converting the thermal energy of a heated gaseous working fluid into electrical energy, comprising a coaxial turbine-compressor-electric generator, a recuperator and pipelines, and a cooler-radiator. The cooler-radiator is rigidly fixed on the outer surface of the spacecraft and represents a set of radiators, each of which is formed by a loop-shaped tube with at least one longitudinal rib mounted on it. Moreover, the emitters are combined into a spatial structure and form an internal cavity in such a way that the loop-shaped tube of each emitter is turned inside this cavity, and the longitudinal ribs form a radiating surface facing outward. The space between the ribs of adjacent emitters, as well as the space between the loop-shaped tubes, the space between the inner surface of the ribs and the outer surface of the spacecraft is filled with thermal insulation.
EFFECT: reduction in weight and size characteristics without loss of efficiency of the power propulsion system.
