FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology and can be used in medicine, food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. The method for obtaining a polysaccharide supplement based on food xanthan gum provides for deep cultivation of a strain of the bacterium Xanthomonas campestris BKPM B-12968 under dynamic conditions on a rocking chair on a nutrient medium containing agar-agar, yeast extract, K2HPO4, KH2PO4, MgSO4×7H2O at a given temperature of 36°C followed by centrifugation of the culture fluid to obtain the supernatant. Ethanol is added to the resulting supernatant in a ratio of 1:4, kept at 6°С for 12 h, and dried at 70°С to constant weight.
EFFECT: invention allows increasing the yield of a polysaccharide supplement based on food xanthan gum.
