FIELD: aviation and rocket technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation and rocket technology, it can be used in the manufacture of air-to-air missiles. The direction-finding system of “antenna-fairing” type of homing head is proposed, including the ceramic shell connected with elastic adhesive to a frame consisting of the adapter made of metal, agreed on the temperature coefficient of linear expansion (TCLE) with the shell material. The fairing is made in form of equal thickness shell made of non-porous ceramic with wave wall equal to:

is the range of the direction-finding antenna,
is the dielectric permeability of the shell wall material,
is the average angle of fall of the electromagnetic wave on the shell when the direction-finding antenna is rotated by an angle corresponding to the maximum angular error, with the radius of rounding of the nose part equal to: , and the axial thickness of the nose part equal to: , for the average frequency of a given frequency range of the direction-finding antenna having finishing turnings on the inner contour. The position and value of the finishing turnings and the axial thickness are specified and, if necessary, refined based on the results of measurements on the radio engineering stand.
EFFECT: protection of the direction-finding antenna of the “antenna-fairing” system from overheating under the thermal action of the incoming flow due to the increase in the speed of the rocket and the time of its flight and the exclusion of the failure of the direction-finding antenna.
