FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of non-ferrous metallurgy and electrical engineering, namely to methods of thermomechanical treatment (TMT) of Al-Mg-Si alloys used for manufacturing electrical items such as current-conductive elements in form of wire rods, wires, plates, tyres, cables and overhead power lines. The method of thermomechanical treatment of conductive Al-Mg-Si system alloys includes consequently annealing at 520 to 560°С, hardening in water, artificial aging and deformation, wherein the artificial aging is executed within a holding period from 24 to 300 hours in a temperature range between 170 and 210°С, and deformation is executed at room temperature by means of drawing or rolling with a total degree of deformation of 80 to 95%. According to the second variant, deformation is executed by preliminary treatment through severe plastic deformation in a homologous temperature range between 0.3 and 0.4 Tm, wherein Tm is the melting temperature of the alloy, to the values of true accumulated deformation (e) 1≤e≤2.
EFFECT: increased mechanical strength with maintained high values of electrical conductivity of the alloys.
