FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: transporting mechanism (2) for upward, primarily vertical, transportation of beets (4) or other root crops in harvesting machinery comprises a conveyor belt (6) with at least two lateral conveyor belt sections (10) movable during operation in the direction (8) of transportation wherein a primarily flat surface (12) of the conveyor belt is defined between said sections, and at least one gripping unit (14) distanced on one side from the surface (12) of the conveyor belt and supported by the conveyor belt (6). The gripping unit (14) defines an intake chamber (16) extending on both sides of the surface (12) of the conveyor belt. The part of the intake chamber (16) located on the side of the surface (12) of the conveyor belt opposing the gripping unit (14) is formed by at least one detachably fixed pocket module (18). The pocket module (18) has two parallel pocket tendons (26) interconnected by means of at least one wall element (28). The pocket module (18) has several wall elements (28) made in form of spreaders. Disclosed is a machine for harvesting beets (4) or other root crops with a transporting mechanism (2).
EFFECT: invention provides a transporting mechanism adaptable to various application events.
