FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly obtaining gold in the form of powder, up to 40 μm in size using the hydrometallurgy method. It can be applied in microelectronics, the production of decorative elements, electrical conductors and resistors. A solution of auric chloride acid is prepared, with the weight percentage of gold at 100-120 g/l. Aqueous solution of sodium sulfate is used as a reducing agent with the concentration of 250 g/l and is mixed with solution gelatin to obtain a combined solution. The reducing agent and the solution of auric chloride acid are mixed by adding the solution of auric chloride acid to the abovementioned combined solution at a speed of 1 l/min while intensely intermixing the resulting mixture of solutions until gelatin coagulates are completely dissolved. The resulting mixture of solutions is heated to 50°C with its subsequent sedimentation during at least 1 hour to ensure gold settles down in the form of powder that is then filtered flushed out and riddled in acetone through a bolter with the screen size of 40 μm. The powder riddled is washed using ethanol, filtered with the minus fraction removed, and dried.
EFFECT: invention provides obtaining gold powder of the uniform size of 40 μm and pour density of 1.0-5.0 g/cm3 along with higher process repeatability and the reduction of gold “waste” in the production process.
