FIELD: pipe rolling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of thermal friction cutting with a circular saw of rolled pipes made of low-carbon steels and heated to a temperature of 1150-1250°C, and can be used, for example, in pipe rolling production. The method involves cutting a heated steel pipe using a low-alloy steel circular saw for thermal friction cutting containing metal housing with cutting teeth located on the contour, each of which contains a negative front angle γ equal to -20°, the angle between the side surface of the tooth β equal to 40°, a positive rear angle α equal to the lateral angle of the bevel of each saw tooth ϕ, the value of each of the corners α and ϕ equal to 5-8°. At the same time, they provide a feeding of the saw of 7.2-15.8 microns/tooth and a feed speed of 0.06-0.13 m/s.
EFFECT: high quality of the surface of the ends of the workpieces after cutting is achieved, as well as an increase in the durability of circular saws while shifting from one diameter of the cut workpiece to another.
