FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of thermo-friction cutting with a disk saw heated to temperature of 1150–1250 °C from pipe rolling from low-carbon steels and can be used, for example, in pipe rolling production. Method for thermo-friction cutting with a disk saw heated to temperature of 1150–1250 °C from low-carbon steel rolled stock with diameter of 120–200 mm includes separation of heated steel pipe by disc saw for thermo-friction cutting of low-alloy steel, comprising an all-metal housing with wedge-shaped cutting teeth arranged along the contour, each of which has a front negative angle equal to −35°, angle between tooth side surfaces equal to 70°, positive back angle α, as well as side angle of saw tooth bevel ϕ. Heat-friction cutting of heated rolled pipe from low-carbon steel with diameter of 120 mm is carried out using a disk saw with sharpening angles of each tooth α and ϕ equal to 10° and 12° respectively, for large diameters of cut steel pipes from the proposed range, the clearance angle is determined by the formula: α = αo-k⋅ΔD, and side angle of saw tooth ϕ - by formula: ϕ = ϕo-k⋅ΔD, where αo = 10°, ϕo = 12°, coefficient k = 0.075°/mm, ΔD is an increase in the diameter of the cut pipe in mm compared to diameter of 120 mm, wherein saw feed makes 6–14 mcm/tooth and feed rate makes 0.06–0.12 m/s.

EFFECT: improvement of quality of surface of ends of workpieces after cutting and increase in durability of disk saws.
