FIELD: organic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalytic composition for chemical reactions, such as the condensation of phenol with acetone to produce bisphenol-A, containing: (a) a set of resin granules having functional groups representing sulfonic acid residues, (b) a promoter containing 2,2-dimethylthiazolidine, cysteamine or a mixture thereof, and (c) an antioxidant characterized by Structure (I),

wherein each of R1 and R2 independently represents an unsubstituted alkyl group containing 2 to 20 carbon atoms, wherein R3 is hydrogen, and n equals zero.
EFFECT: preventing the decomposition of resin granules during storage by providing an antioxidant that does not react with the thiolamine promoter during long-term storage and/or heated storage.
