FIELD: processing of materials with radioactive contamination.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cleaning metal surfaces contaminated with radioactive isotopes. Jet cleaning method envisages jet flow action on working surface. Working surface is a metal contaminated with one or more radioactive fragments. Jet stream contains water and particles of one or more resins. Resin is ion-exchange resin, and at least part of radioactive fragments is removed and retained by particles of ion-exchange resin. Ion-exchange resin is selected from a group consisting of: ion-exchange resins containing covalently bonded sulphonic groups; ion-exchange resins containing covalently bonded carboxyl groups; ion-exchange resins containing covalently bonded secondary amino groups; ion-exchange resins containing covalently bonded tertiary amino groups; ion-exchange resins containing covalently bonded quaternary ammonium groups; and mixtures thereof.
EFFECT: invention enables to remove radioactive materials which will stick to solid particles in the jet stream (that is to resin particles), and not stay in water to a greater extent.
