FIELD: conversion of electric power.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of direct conversion of light into electrical power. The solar cell constitutes a multilayer structure for converting light and a layer with nanoparticles deposited on, in, or under a layer of anti-reflecting coating, exhibiting photoluminescence properties under the influence of UV radiation. Since photoluminescence occurs in the area of visible light with lower quantum energy, the flow of heat into the solar cell is reduced. To maintain or improve the efficiency of light conversion, nanoparticles must have the quantum efficiency of photoluminescence of K ≥ 1, wherein K is determined by the proposed calculation formula, connecting the edge of absorption of the UV range by nanoparticles; the wavelength of the photoluminescence spectrum at the half-width of the photoluminescence peak, and the spectral response of the semiconductor photovoltaic converter at the wavelength of light λ.
EFFECT: design of the solar cell according to the invention increases power generation of the solar cell by reducinf the operating temperature of the cell.
