SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method of installing a drill bit on a drill rod in a drilling machine, as well as to a device for drilling through rock. The method of installing a drill bit on a drill rod in a drilling machine containing a base block and a first lever attached with the possibility of free movement to the base block, wherein the specified drilling machine contains the first drilling unit attached with the possibility of free movement to the specified first lever and containing the specified drill rod, frame and feed device for moving the specified drill rod axially along the axis of rotation of the drill rod relatively to the specified frame, includes the following steps. The specified first drilling unit is aligned by using the specified first lever relatively to the drill bit located in a stationary holder made with the possibility to hold at least two drill bits, so that the axis of rotation of the drill rod coincides with the axis of rotation of the specified drill bit, ensuring free movement of the specified first drilling unit relatively to the specified holder. Next, the specified drill rod is moved axially forward to the drill bit to the first position of the specified drill rod, ensuring the installation of the drill bit. Then, the specified drill bit is installed on the specified drill rod and the specified drill rod is moved axially back to the second position in which the specified drill bit is removed from the specified holder.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in reliability when drilling through the rock.
