FIELD: information security tools.

SUBSTANCE: method is used, in which: at least two characteristics of an email are passed to the classifier, the verification of which by the method of signature analysis gave a negative result; using a classifier using machine learning methods, the degree of similarity of the received characteristics of an email with similar characteristics of emails previously recognized as spam is determined by signature analysis; the email is placed in temporary quarantine if the said degree of similarity exceeds the established threshold; before the expiration of the time allotted for quarantine, at least one more check of the email is conducted by signature analysis; the email is recognized as spam if the said check gave a positive result.

EFFECT: technical result is reducing the number of spam email omissions by sending the email to quarantine for a time sufficient to issue the corresponding signature.
