SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and is intended for the manufacture of composite materials based on aluminum alloy. The method for producing an aluminum alloy reinforced with boron carbide includes melting aluminum and copper in a graphite-chamotte crucible in an electric resistance furnace, introducing boron carbide particles into the melt at a temperature of 850 to 950°C and mechanical mixing with a four-bladed titanium blade, while the boron carbide particles are preheated at a temperature of 200 to 250°C for at least 20 minutes, introducing the particles into the melt through a feeder to the bottom of the crucible by blowing them using the carrier gas, mechanical mixing is carried out at a speed of rotation of the agitator blade from 250 to 350 rpm, after which the melt is poured into the molds and forced cooling is carried out at a speed of 10 to 25 degrees/min.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the degree of assimilation of boron carbide particles while reducing the heterogeneity of the microstructure of the resulting alloy.
