FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of articles to meet stringent requirements to specific weight and absorption of neutron radiation. This process comprises making of aluminium melt containing 0.5-0.9% of Si, 1.3-1.9% of Mg, 0.2-0.4% of Cu. Boron-containing particles are produced by adding the boron-bearing alloy to melt at its temperature of 850-930°C for 30-45 minutes. Inget is made by melt crystallisation and homogenisation. Sheets are made by ingot rolling and heat processing. Note here that produced sheets feature composite structure including the inclusions of AlB2 with mean size of not over 30 mcm and weight fraction of 4-8% uniformly distributed in aluminium matrix.

EFFECT: higher mechanical properties of rolled sheets.
