SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the processing of materials by cutting and can be used to make a system of holes in workpieces having a multilayer structure, in particular when drilling holes in a gasket located between two layers of corrugated sheets of the workpiece, which is part of the sound-absorbing structure of a turbojet bypass engine. The preform is a three-layer composite structure containing the first and second layers with a third layer placed between them. The first and second layers of the workpiece are made in the form of corrugated sheets connected by an adhesive bond to the third layer in the form of a spacer to form closed and open channels. Guide holes are made on the corrugation sites of the closed channels of the first layer of the workpiece, and then the workpiece is fixed with the formation of a rigid package and elimination of deformation. Through these holes, a system of holes is made in the gasket with a tool containing an annular collar outside the cutting part, equal to the diameter of the guide hole, and designed to fix the tool in the guide hole of the fixed multilayer workpiece.
