FIELD: electrical engineering; transport industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical traction systems for vehicles. The traction electric drive contains a primary autonomous motor with a synchronous generator, the stator of which is connected to the stator of the first asynchronous squirrel-cage motor, the second asynchronous squirrel-cage motor, the rotor of which is mechanically and electrically connected to the rotor of the first motor. In this case, the drive additionally contains a synchronous generator connected to the shaft of the prime mover, an excitation control unit connected to the excitation winding of the additional generator. The stator winding of the auxiliary generator is connected to the stator of the second synchronous motor.
EFFECT: technical result consists in simplifying and increasing the reliability of the electric drive.
