SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the field of transport engineering. According to the first variant, the roof box contains a bottom, characterized by a concave shape with an internal space, a cover connected to the bottom, and an expanding component. The expansion component is attached to the outer surface of the bottom and lid. In the second embodiment, the roof box contains a connecting component attached to the bottom or lid. According to the first option, the method of manufacturing a roof box contains the following steps: forming, preferably casting, the bottom; forming, preferably casting, lids; hinged connection of the lid to the bottom; attaching the expansion component to the bottom and to the lid. According to the second option, the method for manufacturing a roof box contains the following steps: forming a cover adapted to be placed in a closed state; attaching an expansion component to provide a transition between the edge of the lid and the bottom flange.
EFFECT: reduction of negative influence of cargo box on vehicle driving.
