FIELD: electrochemical synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electrochemical synthesis of micro-mesoporous copper with a developed surface, which can be used as a material with electrochemical characteristics that are promising for creating substrates for catalyst deposition, electrodeposition of materials with specified parameters, as well as for forming the base of low-wear anodes. The method includes processing L63 brass with an alternating square-wave current in a molten salt mixture containing 54.4 wt.% Cesium chloride, 15.3 wt.% Potassium chloride, 30.3 wt.% Lithium chloride. Processing is carried out at a temperature of 500°C, while at first the brass is kept at a potential of + 0.4V relative to the open circuit potential for 15 minutes, and then at a potential of + 0.1V for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: invention allows obtaining micro-mesoporous copper with a developed surface at a high process rate and the absence of the influence of electrolyte components on the resulting nanoporous metal.
