ELECTROCHEMICAL METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF PALLADIUM VOLUMETRIC-MACRO-POROUS STRUCTURE Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC C25C1/20 C22B11/00 B01J23/44

Abstract RU 2776049 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of a palladium volumetric-macro-porous structure, which can be used as catalytic electrode material for the storage and separation of hydrogen isotopes by a chromatographic method. The electrochemical method for the production of a palladium volumetric-macro-porous structure includes the selective anode dissolution in a three-electrode electrolyzer of a palladium alloy containing 60 wt.% of silver, the rest is palladium, while the alloy treatment with anode current is carried out in an eutectic mixture of lithium chloride, potassium chloride, and cesium chloride, at a temperature from 400 to 510°C, the electrolysis is carried out in a potential-static mode at potential from 0.3 to 0.35 V relatively to a silver comparison electrode, and current flowing through the electrolyzer is controlled during the electrolysis, and the electrolysis is stopped, when current reaches the constant minimum value.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at the production of palladium with a volumetric-macro-porous structure and a pore size about hundreds of nanometers.
