The composition for the production of porous heat-insulating silicate material includes components in the following ratio, wt%: diatomite - 68.0-76.5, sodium hydroxide - 13.5-22.0, polybasic alcohol - 3-6, sodium tetraborate - 1-5.5, sodium fluoride - 0.5-2.

EFFECT: provided are formation of a closed-porous X-ray amorphous structure, a decrease in water absorption of the material, a decrease in the foaming temperature to 730-790°C.
