FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of protection of the external surface of equipment and structures from the temperature effects of the environment and can be used in the chemical and petrochemical industries. The composition for the production of porous heat-insulating silicate material includes components in the following ratio, wt%: diatomite - 68.0-76.5, sodium hydroxide - 13.5-22.0, polybasic alcohol - 3-6, sodium tetraborate - 1-5.5, sodium fluoride - 0.5-2.
EFFECT: provided are formation of a closed-porous X-ray amorphous structure, a decrease in water absorption of the material, a decrease in the foaming temperature to 730-790°C.
