SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for purifying natural waters from hydrogen sulfide and can be used in the preparation of groundwater for household and drinking water supply to settlements. The invention relates to a method for purifying water from hydrogen sulfide by the method of iron catalytic oxidation of sulfides with atmospheric oxygen in a reactor with a membrane separator. When hydrogen sulfide water comes into contact with a 0.3% solution of iron (III) hydroxide, the binding of hydrogen sulfide, the regeneration of the formed iron sulfide and its separation from pure water are carried out in one reactor. Simultaneously with the main binding reaction, catalytic oxidation of hydrogen sulfide with atmospheric oxygen is carried out, feeding it into the reactor for the regeneration of iron sulfide to iron (III) hydroxide, at the pH of 6.5-8.5, contact time of 30 min and flow rate of supplied air of 1m3 per 1m3 of purified water.

EFFECT: invention simplifies and reduces the cost of the process of purifying hydrogen sulfide waters, reduces the amount of equipment and provides possibility of continuous cleaning with a high volumetric flow rate of water.
