SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to zeolite-containing materials and their use as catalysts. A propane dehydrogenation catalyst based on a silica-alumina zeolite of the MFI structure modified with platinum, tin, and alkali metal with a molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 from 25 to 130, containing 0.25-0.75% of platinum and 0.5-2.0% of tin, is proposed. Metal modification is carried out in three stages: first, the zeolite is impregnated with an aqueous solution of platinum and tin salts and excess of alkali metal chloride selected from lithium, sodium, potassium and cesium, then the resulting modified zeolite is calcined at 300-600°C, and then the excess of alkali metal is washed with water. A method for propane dehydrogenation using the claimed catalyst is proposed.

EFFECT: zeolite catalyst with high stability in the process of propane dehydrogenation, and a technological method for propane dehydrogenation that does not require the use of diluent gases, which simplifies the separation of the target product.
