FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of production of composite materials consisting of a reinforcing material, a polymer matrix and filler, wherein carbon nanotubes act as the filler, and can be used in production of composite materials with increased strength due to the use of a uniform constant electric field destroying agglomerates of carbon nanotubes and orienting nanotubes. A method for production of a composite material with oriented carbon nanotubes that consists in creating a polymer composite material with oriented nanotubes using an electric field, wherein the reinforcing material is passed through a saturating bath containing a polymer binder and carbon nanotubes in the direction of the intensity vector of a uniform constant electric field occurring during constant electric current destroying agglomerates of carbon nanotubes and orienting nanotubes along the direction of movement of the reinforcing material.
EFFECT: increased tensile strength due to the use of a uniform constant electric field destroying agglomerates of carbon nanotubes and orientating nanotubes along the direction of movement of the reinforcing material, that is, along the direction of the applied force.
