FIELD: natural and waste water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for purification of natural and wastewater from nitrates. Water undergoes electrolysis by passing the solution through a flow-through electrochemical cell containing at least one anode and one aluminum alloy cathode, and the adsorbed nitrate is removed by filtering the sediment. A suspension of the reagent is added to the aqueous phase, which is magnesium hydroxide in an amount of 1000 mg/l. At the stage of electrolysis, the aqueous phase is fed into the interelectrode space, which is not less than 0.5 cm, in an upward flow. Electrolysis is carried out at anode current density j=23.6 mA/cm2 for 30-50 minutes, and then the sediment with water undergoes structuring by "aging" in a heated tank for 1 hour at a temperature of 35-40°C.
EFFECT: invention improves efficiency and stability of purification of natural and industrial wastewater containing nitrates at initial concentrations of NO3¯>500 mg/l.
