FIELD: agriculture, cattle farming in particular.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to beef cattle production, to feed additives for young cattle. A method for improving the productive qualities of young cattle is proposed, in which the diet of 8-9-month-old calves includes protein feeding in the form of sunflower cake with the additional inclusion of ultrafine Cr2O3 chromium particles with a size of 91 nm in a dosage of 200 mcg/kg of animal live weight once a day during the growing period of 14 days.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the metabolic processes in the body, increase the level of pancreatic secretion and the level of activity of pancreatic enzymes, amylase, lipase and intestinal proteases, by 24.8%, 56.8% and 7.7%, promotes the stimulation of the digestibility of nutrients in the diet, increases the intensity of the processes of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism in the body and increases the live weight gain of calves by 15.1%.
