FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radio engineering (hydroacoustics), particularly, to methods for bistatic determination of the location of a target, and can be used in tools for bistatic radio location (hydro location) for measuring the direction to the target and the distance thereto. The described result is achieved by the fact that the narrow-beam antenna of the CRA is directed to the carrier of the transmitting apparatus (TA) with known coordinates and angular position of the transmitting antenna, the angle between the "TA-target" and "TA-CRA" lines is calculated, a probing signal (PS) and an echo signal (ES) of the target are detected in the CRA after re-reflection thereof by the carrier of the TA, the difference between the moments of reception of the PS and ES is measured, the location of the target relative to the CRA is determined by the parameters of the two calculated lines of position - a circle and a straight line. Considering that the antenna of the CRA is directed towards the carrier of the TA, direct observation of the target itself in the CRA and space scanning by a narrow-beam antenna is not required in the search thereof, which, with one receiving position, leads to a decrease in the space observation time.
EFFECT: determination of the location of the target in the absence of an echo signal in the direction of the target (in the absence of direct visibility of the target at the receiving position) and elimination of the process of space scanning using a narrow-beam antenna of the coordinate receiving apparatus (CRA) in the interests of reducing the target search time.
