FIELD: optically variable elements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an optically variable element. A device for orienting magnetically oriented flakes in a fluid carrier is claimed, which contains a mask including at least one wedge-shaped hole; a magnet made with the possibility of orienting magnetically oriented flakes in the fluid carrier; the device also includes a feeding mechanism made with the possibility of feeding the substrate in a rectilinear feeding direction, and a radiation source.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the orientation of magnetically oriented scales in a carrier with a given orientation and values of dihedral angles.
