SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing an agent for reducing the hydrodynamic resistance of a hydrocarbon liquid. The method includes the synthesis of high-molecular isotactic polymethyl methacrylate by anionic polymerization of methyl methacrylate in the presence of phenyl-magnesium-bromide, followed by transesterification of isotactic polymethyl methacrylate with higher alcohol until the molar fraction of higher methacrylates of at least 65% is reached.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of the agent for reducing the hydrodynamic resistance by increasing the molecular weight of the polymer and the ability to dissolve in oil of any nature at a temperature of the transported medium up to +10°C, as well increased throughput of main pipelines transporting heavy and/or cold oil by reducing the hydrodynamic resistance.
