FIELD: lasers.
SUBSTANCE: laser component comprises a) an active element containing doped sapphire, and b) a cladding glass placed on said active element, exhibiting, in case of a thickness of 1 mm in the wavelength range from 750 nm to 850 nm, internal transmittance of no more than 0.8, wherein the extraordinary refraction index of doped sapphire and the refraction index of the cladding glass for radiation in the wavelength range from 750 nm to 850 nm differ by no more than 0.05. The method for producing a laser component includes providing a doped sapphire, providing a cladding glass, and placing the cladding glass on the doped sapphire.
EFFECT: increased efficiency due to suppression of parasitic emission in the visible range.
