FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used in cooling systems for automobile and tractor engines. The friction clutch for automatic control of the fan of the internal combustion engine cooling system consists of an internal clutch half (1) connected to a pressure plate (2) by means of four spatial plates (3) made of shape memory material, and an external clutch half (6) with a lining (7). The clutch is driven from the water pump shaft of the engine. As the temperature rises, the spatial plates (3) change their shape due to martensitic transformation and exert pressure on the pressure plate (2), which engages with the friction lining (7).
