FIELD: cryogenic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of cryogenic engineering and can be used as part of gasification plants. In the cylinder of the cryogenic piston pump, at a height equal to the stroke of the plunger from the BDC, a cylindrical groove with a width of 0.2 to 0.4 from the stroke of the plunger is made. The cylinder is equipped with a switch for the leakage of the working medium through the piston seal, made in the form of a housing, in which the upper, middle and lower chambers are located. The upper chamber is connected to the discharge cavity, and a seat and a spring-loaded stem are installed in it. The middle chamber is connected to the cylindrical groove, and the lower chamber is connected to the suction cavity and to the channel, which is made in the bottom of the cylinder on the side of the intake valve. A saddle, a valve and a piston are installed in the lower chamber, the diameter of which is 1.5-2.0 times the diameter of the stem.
EFFECT: invention allows increasing efficiency of the pump operating cycle when changing its operating mode.
