SAND CONSUMPTION CONTROL DEVICE IN SANDBOX BUNKER OF LOCOMOTIVE Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC B61C15/10 B60B39/04 G01F23/26

Abstract RU 2752480 C1

FIELD: railway industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for preventing skidding of locomotive wheels. The device for monitoring the consumption of sand in the sandbox bunker of the locomotive contains a sand level sensor in the bunker of the locomotive, installed on the vertical wall of the bunker, the output of which is connected to the input of the indicator device. In this case, the sand level sensor in the bunker is made in the form of a vibration-resistant capacitive contactless sensor, made with the ability to send a signal when there is sand in the bunker in the range from 100% volume to 0%, with a step of 5-50%. The control device is equipped with a data transmission device from the sand level sensor via the CAN interface to the locomotive driver's console.

EFFECT: invention ensures constant, continuous control of the presence and level of sand in the sandbox bunker of the locomotive both when parked and in motion.
