FIELD: geophysics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to marine geophysics. Disclosed is an apparatus for sampling seabed soil, comprising a frame lowered on a conducting rope from an escort vessel, with blades installed thereon, ensuring removal of the surface layer. Several sea gliders are therein installed on the frame in form of a triangular wing equipped with an engine with a propeller ensuring movement thereof in the water, a cylindrical container with an oblique cut is fixed at the bottom of each wing, collecting the seabed soil when the wing moves along the seabed, wherein a conducting cable is attached to the surface of each wing at a point providing horizontal movement of the wing along the seabed, considering the force of soil collecting by the oblique cut and the weight of the engine at the tip of the wing, and the conducting cable of each wing is wound on a coil attached at the frame and equipped with engines providing return movement of the wing to the frame.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in productivity of marine geophysical research.
