METHOD FOR ESTIMATING EFFICIENCY OF REHABILITATION OF ADULT PATIENTS WITH CEREBRAL PALSY Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2752511 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurology, rehabilitation, can be used to estimate the efficiency of rehabilitation of adult patients with cerebral palsy (CP). Indicators are measured using standardised rating scales at the beginning and at the end of the rehabilitation course using the categories of the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) to assess the indicators of bodily dysfunction, activity and participation of the patient. The rehabilitation efficiency (RE) is calculated by the formula , wherein RP1 is the rehabilitation potential prior to the rehabilitation course and RP2 is the rehabilitation potential upon completing the rehabilitation course. The rehabilitation efficiency is assessed at the RE value of 0 to 5% as no dynamics, at 5 to 20% as satisfactory dynamics, 21% and above as good dynamics. The "cognitive functions" indicator is therein assessed using the Montreal cognitive assessment scale, "Emotional status (anxiety)" - using the Hospital anxiety and depression scale, "Emotional status (depression)" - using the Hospital anxiety and depression scale, "Pain expression" - using the Visual Analogue Scale, "Independent walking ability" - using the Gross Motor Function Classification System in Cerebral Palsy, "Muscle Strength" - using the six-point Muscle Strength Scale, "Muscle Tone"- using the Modified Ashworth Spasticity Scale, "Range of motion in the joints of the extremities" - using the Modified Tardieu Scale, "Daily activity and self-care" - using the Barthel Index for Activities of Daily Living and Mobility.

EFFECT: method provides an objective assessment of changes in the functional capabilities of the patient during observation, a substantiation of the requirement for new rehabilitation courses due to determination of the rehabilitation efficiency.
