FIELD: braking systems.
SUBSTANCE: system of braking by means of gears of elliptical coupling can include an input shaft with a connected input gear, a swinging washer, a rotor with a reacting gear and an actuated braking mechanism or brake. The input shaft can set the rotation axis, and the swinging washer can have the swing axis located at a non-zero angle relative to the rotation axis. A combination of end teeth located on the one surface of the swinging washer can have partial engagement with the input gear, and a combination of swing teeth on the other surface of the swinging washer can have partial engagement with the reacting gear. The rotation of the input shaft can cause the rotation of the swinging washer and rotor. The brake can be coupled with the rotor, and, when the brake is actuated, it can slow down the rotor relative to the input shaft. Contact forces during swinging between the surfaces of swing teeth and reacting teeth can cause nutation in the swinging washer with the scattering of rotational energy.
EFFECT: technical result is an increased safety in use and an increased service life of braking system, as well as the creation of light and compact brake.
