FIELD: contact thermometry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring equipment in the field of contact thermometry and is intended for operational control of the static characteristics of thermal converters in operation at industrial facilities. The invention can be used in energy, nuclear, chemical and gas industries. The method consists in the fact that a control thermal converter is placed inside the protective casing of the thermocouple being verified in close proximity to it, and the same external thermal effect of a given value is exerted on the thermocouples, for example, by blowing an air flow with a given flow rate and with a given temperature through the cavity of the protective casing, while the temperature of the gas flow is set significantly different from the temperature of the object in which the thermal converters are installed and the temperature of which is measured by the calibrated thermal converter, in the steady-state thermal regime, the temperature response of each thermal converter to an external thermal effect is measured, the responses obtained are compared with each other and, based on their difference, a decision is made about validity of the verified thermocouple.
